I've really appreciated the livestream audience that has developed over on our TikTok lately - I feel like I do some of my absolute best thinking live, spontaneously presenting ideas and getting feedback. Some of the best livestreams have been conveniently placed over in my Series which you can download for a small fee. Go to my TikTok profile page while logged into TikTok, and click on Series right below my profile description - should be easy to find.
The archived high quality livestreams over in the Series section are a nice replacement for the podcast, which I decided to walk away from back in September due to changing market conditions.
Without going into any proprietary numbers, we saw that podcast growth is plateauing - while video is still an open pasture for FULCRUM, as is some long form article content. For this reason, simply moving toward what works best for us as a seasoned brand and community.
The departure then possible re-hire attempt of OpenAI’s Sam Altman is very unusual. Normal corporate politics/ego may not be, alone, what is at play here — if it’s true he demoed a version of GPT-5 that scared other developers on his team, causing the board to fire him when they heard of it… I’m wondering how good that GPT-5 really is, and how do we ask it a few questions? Lol.
Balaji Srinivasan has an interesting counterpoint to AI doomers, who want to stop AI from progressing far beyond the smart chatbot stage it’s at now:
Interesting times to be a journalist covering all this…
Onward,
